Free Radicals
Free radicals help the body fight off foreign invaders and also help repair damaged cells and tissues. They are an essential part of life in a carbon-based, oxygen burning world. However, your body has a built in system to counter free radicals, called "the antioxidant network." You always want an antioxidant advantage, so that you can fight off free radicals gone wild, but have enough of them to do their job. Not surprisingly, what we eat has a lot to do with free radical formation. So does, sun exposure, toxins, pollution, stress, being overweight and excess silent inflammation.
